BSH Publishing is a new boutique publisher with Barbara Schilling Hurwitz as editor-in-chief. She is a well-published writer of short stories, poetry, a Young Adult novel, and a book-length memoir. She is also a veteran grammar, reading, and writing teacher and an executive functioning skills coach.
The company’s first publication, The Writers’ Journal Live and Learn, was released on December 1, 2024. It is a diverse collection of 129 carefully curated poems, memoirs, and fiction stories by writers from over 20 countries.
Due to the large number of submissions for this first issue of The Writers’ Journal, BSH selected exceptionally well-qualified volunteer readers to help with the initial reading and vetting of submissions.
As a new publisher entering the field, BSH is sensitive to the needs of emergent writers seeking to see their work in print. BSH takes pride in working closely with new writers, helping to organize, edit, and tighten their writing to make it publication-ready.
